Maria-Luisa Boito, American – Italian artist, graduated in Milan in fashion design at the European Institute of Design and at the Marangoni Institute and, in Industrial Patterning at the Secoli Institute.
In 1989 she successfully started working in Milan, first as a fashion designer for “Tabak haute couture” and later as an interior designer with her own collections.
The metal mesh installations and the glass collections, “Murri”, have been exhibited in Milan by Eclectica and Dilmos, in Turin and in Naples with the Changing Role Gallery and in New York.
Furthermore she designed the the set and costumes in movement for Mozart’s “Magic Flute “ collaborating with Maestro Madau Diaz and later on with Maestro Peter Maag. In 1996 she moved to UK .
She carried on working as an interior designer and sculptor and designed and produced the collection of jewellery in bronze, silver and semiprecious stones : ATELIER 7.
All the metal elements in the jewellery collection are handcrafted exuding a subtle organic effect. These are unique pieces and Maria-Luisa Boito intentionally, “signs” the bronze and silver with her own fingerprints.
Maria-Luisa has recently moved back to Italy where she now passionately teaches Metal Clay techniques.
